This session will be about the Buffalo and how future generations can continue to ensure that Buffalo Ways are carried forward. International Buffalo Relations Institute (IBRI) collaborated with the Galt Museum and Archives | Akaisamitohkanao’pa on an upcoming exhibit titled Buffalo Treaty: Keystone to Wellness.

Raising Buffalo Consciousness for Truth and Reconciliation

The session will explore the story of the buffalo as a wonderful entry point for students and teachers to learn about land, indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing, and the truth and reconciliation process. The session will explore the Buffalo Treaty and the work of the International Buffalo Relations Institute (IBRI) in raising buffalo consciousness. The session will also share ideas and resources to support student learning in the classroom, as well as teacher professional learning.
