A good story is a good story, whether it's told orally, in print... or through film. I've utilized a Film Study in my Division II class every year for the last eight years and it has done wonders for my students' ability to comprehend complex storytelling concepts. I'll walk through how I utilize short films to introduce concepts, and share the films, resources, and projects I use to deepen their understanding. (This unit of study leads really well into my Camp NaNoWriMo writing unit, which I'm also talking about in my other session "Grade 4s Don't Write Novels")
