I'll share the most successful writing project I've ever done, Camp NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), and how it's led each class I've taught for the past 8 years to generate 35000+ words in a single month. Inherently differentiated, engaging, with just the right amount of challenge, I haven't yet found a student who wouldn't engage, and after seeing the class anthologies, each new class can't wait to have their chance. I'll share strategies, resources, and anything else I can to jumpstart your own experience with this incredible writing project. (This unit follows especially well after my Film Study unit, which I'm presenting on in my other session).
