Linked Text Sets - A New Way To Scaffold for Knowledge Building

Beyond combining a fiction and nonfiction text, Linked Text Sets provide a new way to scaffold for knowledge building. Linked text sets embrace complexity, build background knowledge, encourage engagement, and increase range of experience with text. This session will provide an overview of the framework for linked text sets and show several examples of sets of texts for different grades and subjects. Teachers will walk away with planning organizers and instructional strategies for designing and implementing linked text sets in their classrooms.
